Technical Service Engineer – Based in Papua Barat (Code: TSE-WPU)
JOB SCOPE:
· To provide technical support to client by supporting the commercial objectives of the Company Mineral Processing Chemicals business.
· Conduct laboratory and plant evaluations of new and existing reagents.
· Assist with technical projects to qualify products for new applications.
· Keep abreast of new technologies both within Company and the industry as a whole.
· Support key account and other personnel to ensure achievement of the commercial objectives of the Company's Mineral Processing Chemicals business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Environment, Safety and Health:
- To demonstrate personal responsibility and initiative in the areas of safety and environmental performance and to provide relevant guidance and information to other personnel as required.
- Promote personal safety and environmental accountability and awareness in day to day work.
- Participate in client company's safety programs including Master observation logging, integrated safety inspections, safety meetings and NOSA audits.
- Accountable for own housekeeping within mine metallurgical laboratories and concentrators and promoting this function as a priority to all personnel.
- Have an awareness of the requirements of the Mines Inspection Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other relevant legislation.
- Ensure that safety is the paramount consideration in all decisions, particularly with plant trials and modifications.
- Ensure that environmental impact is considered in all decisions, particularly with plant trials and modifications.
· Technical
o To provide technical support to mines and commercial metallurgical laboratories with respect to testing and commissioning reagents.
- Conduct laboratory and plant testing to support both current business and the development of new business in the geographic area of responsibility.
- Have an awareness of project management techniques to manage laboratory and plant test programs.
- Provide technical advice and support to existing and potential customers to ensure the most appropriate reagents are evaluated to solve customer needs.
- Have an awareness of the statistical tools used in the assessment and interpretation of test work results.
- Keep abreast of ongoing research, both internal and external, of the latest chemistry developments to ensure optimization of the flotation process for customers.
- Develop a sound knowledge and expertise in the application of current reagents and of new products and technologies coming from both research and field developments to ensure optimization for customers.
- Provide timely and detailed reports of laboratory and plant test programs to customers.
- Gather market intelligence relating to potential opportunities and threats, market trends, competitive information and relay this via internal communication systems.
- Enhance skills and knowledge by attending and participating in appropriate training courses, conferences and seminars.
- Develop and extend good relations to all customers, consultants and university and research personnel involved in areas of common interest.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or Industrial Chemistry – required.
· Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Metallurgist in a mineral processing environment.
· Be able to communicate in English and Bahasa.
· Know and understand base and precious metals processes.
· Able to complete designed laboratory flotation programs and assist with the running of plant trials.
· Competent in the area of report writing.
· Able to work with a high level of independence.
· High standard of communication skills.
· Self motivated.
· Be able to identify problems and potential opportunities and work through to a solution in a timely manner.
· Willing to work in West Papua with 6:2 weeks roster
